Good morning, Armchair Army,

Welcome to today's edition of The Armchair Analyst, a 5-minute daily update on the ASX life-sciences sector.

After a pretty bleak FY26 for healthcare, things are starting to feel just that little bit better.

A mate sent over this grainy chart of the healthcare and biotech sector over the last few years with the message: "Surely the bottom is in."

Now, I’m starting to get a few signals.

A message here or there asking about the sector (mainly from people who had cleaned up trading gold stocks the last two years).

It’s starting to show in the stocks too…

EBR is trading above the raise price (after a monster $150 million raise).

So is Imricor.

So is EchoIQ.

Dimerix is starting to look stronger, back above 25 cents.

And the bounceback post-June is starting to take shape.

Mining investors rolling into healthcare?

Potentially…

I’m optimistic about the sentiment at Bioshares this year.

(My favourite biotech event on the calendar, by the way)

The lineup just dropped, and there are some big names headlining.

It reminds me of when the “lineup” for Big Day Out drops, and you’re gifted not one but TWO headline acts.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the Killers.

For Bioshares, that’s Telix and Clarity.

But honestly, it’s the supporting acts that make the day.

38 ASX-listed healthcare companies all presenting in Queenstown.

I'll be featured on the investment panel to close out the event.

Registrations are still open for guests: 20th Bioshares Biotech Summit

Let's dive in…

The Pulse Check

Yesterday, Genetic Signatures (ASX: GSS) responded to the announcement that BCAL Diagnostics (ASX: BDX) had taken a 10% stake in the company. (GSS)

🪑 When a company comes out with an announcement like this, “we had no prior knowledge of the investment by BCAL”, it indicates that the investment was unsolicited and opportunistic.

My take is that BCAL has its eyes on Genetic Signature’s cash box. This could get messy.

OncoSil Medical (ASX: OSL) files for FDA approval of its OncoSil™ device under the Humanitarian Device Exemption. (OSL)

Syntara Limited (ASX: SNT) enters a trading halt pending results of the iRBD Parkinson's trial of SNT-4728. (SNT)

Algorae Pharmaceuticals (ASX: 1AI) advances its AI drug discovery platform with the results of its AlgoraeOS v2 drug-combination prediction test. (1AI)

Orthocell (ASX: OCC) appoints MediTime as exclusive distributor for Remplir in the US$84 million Thai market. (OCC)

Racura Oncology (ASX: RAC) has received ethics approval, enabling more Australian sites to participate in its HARNESS-1 lung cancer trial. (RAC)

Starpharma (ASX: SPL) achieves a milestone with Radiopharm Theranostics, triggering a $0.5M option fee. (SPL)

Enlitic (ASX: ENL) secures A$15M in a “Conditional Placement” with a $1M SPP. (ENL)

🪑One of the stranger raises I’ve seen this year. ENL, capped at $4M, is raising $15M with Barren Joyes on the ticket…

Imugene Limited (ASX: IMU) has requested a trading halt pending an announcement regarding a proposed capital raising. (IMU)

See you all next week,
