Good morning, Armchair Army,

Welcome to today's edition of The Armchair Analyst, a 5-minute daily update on the ASX life-sciences sector.

One year ago today, I had the idea for The Armchair Analyst.

Hobart bioshares.

It was the last day of the conference, at a breakaway meeting with Reece, Chairman of Nexsen and James, the CEO of Recce.

(There may have been an Irish pub involved too.)

At the time, I was following another newsletter that covered the mining industry in a digestible, daily format.

Money of Mine.

I thought…

It’s a no-brainer… There should be this for the biotech industry too.

Four months later, I quit my job and started the Armchair Analyst.

170 emails on… and we are back where it all started.

Bioshares.

This year’s biosarhes is a little bit different for me.

The same people from last year, but the stories have grown.

One of my favourite meetings was with the CEO of Neuren, Jon Pilcher.

Understanding the story and the journey of one of Australia's big biotech "success stories".

How developing an "orphan drug" was not just about the science, but also working incredibly closely with the communities and families affected by rare diseases.

I was impressed with Clever Culture Systems and the progress the company had made since I first connected with Brent at last year's Bioshares.

A year of "landing" deals with big pharma companies, setting up for this year to "expand".

(Also, he had the best outfit at the conference with all of his customers on his back.)

My favourite presentation?

Clarity Pharmaceuticals.

Executive Chairman Alan Taylor didn't hold back as he declared proudly that his radiotheranostics product was superior to Telix.

… the next speaker.

Telix.

Now David Williams is about to give the ‘keynote’ speech for the event.

(Former chairman of PolyNovo and MVP)

Next up for me: Nova Eye Medical and Mayne Pharma.

Let’s dive in…

The Pulse Check

Imricor Medical Systems (ASX: IMR) secures compatibility declaration from Philips MR systems, enabling NorthStar-guided procedures in clinical settings. (IMR)

🪑 Milestone ticked.

AVITA Medical (ASX: AVH) raises 2026 revenue guidance to $86-$89M, reporting a record Q2 revenue of $21.7M with 18% growth and expects cash flow breakeven in Q4 2026.

🪑 Great result.

Guidance upgrades are always welcome.

Nyrada (ASX: NYR) major shareholder Mark Azzi is back and buying stock on the market again. (NYR)

🪑 I’ve written about Mark Azi before; his relentless buying was a large reason for the previous run-up in Nyrada.

A new slide on Dimerix (ASX: DXB) piqued my interest. (DXB, Page 12)

🪑First time that the company has announced what the milestone payments are BEFORE the commercial launch. $237 million.

See you all tomorrow.

The Armchair Analyst.
